Peyto Lake is accessed from the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park (Alberta). The lake is fed by the Peyto Creek with glacier water which gives the lake that typical and special blue color. Peyto Lake was named for Bill Peyto (1869 - 1943), a pioneer and mountain guide in Banff National Park.
