Ebersburg borders to the north on the municipality of Künzell, to the east on the municipality of Poppenhausen and the town of Gersfeld, to the south on the market of Wildflecken and the municipality of Motten, as well as to the west on the municipalities of Kalbach and Eichenzell.
Ebersberg is a scattered settlement and the largest district by area of the municipality of Ebersburg. It consists of several hamlets and mainly of individual farms to the north of the Lütter. At its eastern end lies Ebersberg with Ebersburg, which is surrounded on three sides by the district of Gackenhof.
