Haus Kliffende is a residential building in Kampen on the island of Sylt. It marks the end of the Red Cliff and was long threatened with extinction due to its location near the edge of the cliff.
The house was built in 1923 according to a design by the architect Walther Baedeker on behalf of Heinrich Tiedemann, a Berlin-based bookseller and antiquarian bookseller. In 1925, Tiedemann gave it to his wife, the actress Clara Tiedemann, who ran the Kliffende house as a guest house until 1955. Here it hosted personalities such as Thomas Mann, Ernst Rowohlt, Emil Nolde, but also Hermann Göring. Thomas Mann wrote in the guestbook:
