Teschemacher Court

The Teschemacher Hof is a former manor house under monument protection located in the Wuppertal district of Uellendahl-Katernberg.
The building is the preserved part of a courtyard complex built around 1630, named "Teschemacher Hof." It is situated on a side street of Uellendahler Straße called In der Mirke. The building complex consists of two wings that are constructed at a right angle to each other. The two three-story wings are built in half-timbered style, which remains exposed only on the northern facade, while the other sides are covered with shingles. The northeastern wing is presumably the older part of the building, showing characteristics of Renaissance architecture in its construction. The roof with a half gable takes the form of a hipped roof and transitions into a three-story facade. The individual floors overhang there on profiled corbels. Attached to the southwestern wing is a bay window-like extension that evokes associations with a chapel. Both parts of the building have roofs in the shape of a gable roof, with small hipped sections on the gable sides. On the southwestern roof, there is a small bell tower as a weather vane. For centuries, the little bell announced the new year – today it has fallen silent.
