Weisweiler Castle is a former moated castle dating back to the 12th century in the Eschweiler district of Weisweiler, of which only a few remains remain today. Its builders were the Lords of Weisweiler, of whom Winricus von Wizwilre is mentioned for the first time in 1176 in a document of the Archbishop of Cologne, Philipp von Heinsberg.
