The Pletschbach has its source at 50 m above sea level in Bielenweg in the district of Schirick in the city of Viersen. The brook, with a length of 7.9 kilometers, flows in a northwestern direction and serves, in addition to the drainage of spring water, also for surface drainage and flood protection during ice and snow melt. It flows through the districts of Schirick and Bistard in Viersen territory, passes under the A 61, and then bends in Rennekoven, parallel to Kölsumer Weg, heading west. From Rennekoven, the further path goes through Dyck before the brook discharges into the Nette at Breyeller See. The discharge height is 46 m above sea level.
