Evangelical Cemetery Nikolassee

The Protestant Cemetery of Nikolassee, also known as the Ev. Churchyard Nikolassee, is the cemetery of the Protestant parish of Nikolassee. It is located east of the church path in the Berlin district of Nikolassee. The cemetery was established in connection with the villa colony in Nikolassee between 1906 and 1907. Today, it covers an area of 17,523 square meters and is listed as a protected historic site. Additionally, the cemetery chapel, the enclosing wall, and 19 graves are protected as individual monuments. Five honorary graves of the State of Berlin are located in the cemetery. The state of Berlin classifies the cemetery as a forest cemetery.
In 1906, five years after the founding of the villa colony Nikolassee, the Heimstätten-AG, the founding body of Nikolassee, provided an area of 11,490 square meters as a church and parish property. Of this, 5,312 square meters were designated as a burial site and was consecrated ecclesiastically in October 1907. Directly across from it, on the western side of the church path, the Nikolassee Church was built from 1909 to 1910. In 1909, the parish was separated from the mother church of Zehlendorf, and a parish office was established, followed by the transfer of the cemetery to the ownership of the new parish in 1910.
