Paltrock Oppelhain Windmill

The technical monument of the Paltrock Oppelhain windmill is located in the Oppelhain district of the municipality of Rückersdorf in Brandenburg. It was named after its last owner, Neumann-Mühle. Inside, there is an exhibition system with containers, products and tools from the daily life of the mill's operation. A Pechofen was built in the Mühlenhof. In the past, pitch was produced on these grounds, which was necessary to lubricate the wooden axles of the trolleys. There is also a petting zoo and a children's playground. Near the Paltrock windmill, the 4000 m2 herb garden, which was established in 1996 and inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of Brandenburg, Manfred Stolpe, shows the diversity of aromatic and medicinal herbs found in the Lower Lusatian Heath Nature Park. In the herb garden there are several models of mills on a scale of 1:10.
The mill is open to the public on weekends during the summer months. The rest of the time, it can be visited by appointment. Twice a year, the Oppelhain mill market takes place on a Saturday.
