Salvador Allende Street

Salvador-Allende-Straße is a street about 1.5 kilometers long in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick, district of Köpenick, east of the old town. The street has borne its name since 1973, when the first larger new residential area in the then district of Köpenick was ready for occupancy.
The road begins in the south at Müggelheimer Damm. On the east side is the site of the Köpenick hospital, then the road touches a residential area that was built in the 1920s on the Kämmereiheide as a small housing estate. On the west side is the new development area Allende-Viertel I. About 150 metres north of Azaleenstraße, the road will have four lanes with a green median strip. Here, on the east side, another new development district begins with an access ring. Behind the Salvador Allende Bridge over the Spree there is an entrance to the westernmost tip of Friedrichshagen on the east side. Salvador-Allende-Straße ends in the north at Fürstenwalder Damm.
