The district lies northeast of the community center. To the north is the Steinhöfel district of Heinersdorf. This is followed clockwise by the other districts of Arensdorf, Wilmersdorf, Demnitz, Buchholz and Tempelberg. The majority of the municipal area is used for agriculture; only in the northwest is part of it forested. The Heinersdorfer Fließ runs from the south in a northeasterly direction through the municipal area. In the west, the Hasenfelder Buschgraben drains into the Upstallgraben running south.
Hasenfelde was first mentioned in a document dated 12 April 1288. Erich of Brandenburg, at that time Archbishop of Magdeburg, entrusted the village with three other villages to the knight Reinhard von Strehle. At that time, there was a village church, which was built in the 13th century and rebuilt and expanded as early as the 14th century. In 1901, the parish had the sacred building rebuilt again. In 1911, the Müncheberg–Hasenfelde railway opened. At that time, the town experienced its economic boom when grain was transported via this connection to the fast-growing Berlin. The prosperity was evident, for example, in the manor house built by Rudolf Engel in Parkstraße in 1914. During the Second World War, the buildings in the village, including the church, were damaged; the organ from 1857/1858 was partially destroyed. The operation of the railway line was discontinued in April 1945 and started in November 1946. However, passenger services were discontinued with effect from 31 May 1965 and freight services on 18 December 1968.
