Jocketa

Jocketa is a district of the municipality of Pöhl in the Vogtlandkreis. With the construction of the Pöhl dam in 1961, the historic village of Pöhl was demolished and the neighboring village of Jocketa was developed. On January 1, 1994, the municipality of Jocketa merged with the municipalities of Ruppertsgrün, Helmsgrün, Möschwitz, and Herlasgrün to form the new municipality of Pöhl. Since then, the village of Jocketa has formed the central village of the municipality of Pöhl with the municipal office.

Jocketa is located in the center of the natural region of Vogtland in the Saxon part of the historic Vogtland. To the west, the village is bordered by the White Elster River. To the southeast of Jocketa lies the Pöhl dam, where the Trieb River is dammed. The Trieb, in turn, flows into the White Elster River south of Jocketa. Alt-Jocketa is located in the eastern village territory, while the new district is situated in the center of the area. Far to the west of Jocketa, in the valley of the White Elster, there is a part of the settlement Barthmühle.
