The Barby ferry is a ferry connection on the Elbe between the town of Barby on the west bank and Ronney on the east bank, which belongs to the town of Zerbst/Anhalt. The name of the ferry is Saalhorn, named after a headland in a former estuary of the Saale into the Elbe. The owner is the city of Barby. The ferry is a non-motorized yaw rope ferry and is accordingly propelled by the current of the river. The ferry runs daily. It is approved for pedestrians, horseback riders, two-wheelers, cars, trucks, buses and agricultural vehicles. The prices for a crossing in 2019 range from 50 cents for a child to 11 euros for a semi-trailer.
