The village located in the south of the Heiligenstädter Flächenalb is one of 17 officially named district parts of the town of Ebermannstadt in Upper Franconia. It lies about four kilometers northwest of the town center of Ebermannstadt at an altitude of 474 m above sea level.
Until the beginning of the 19th century, Eschlipp was subject to the regional authority of the principality of Bamberg. The village and community rule was exercised by the Ebermannstadt office as a bailiwick. The high jurisdiction also belonged to this office as a cent office.
