Dornumersiel and Westeraccumersiel are a historically grown village community on the North Sea coast in East Frisia in the area of the former Dornumer Bay. Between the two districts runs the Dornumersieler Tief, also referred to as Accumer Tief, with the former border of Norderland to the west and Harlingerland to the east. In the village center, the Tief has been expanding since the 1960s into the Mahlbusen of the Siel and pumping station Accumersiel, which has been arranged along the new main dyke line at the Wadden Sea. In the outer dyke area lies the fishing and yacht harbor Accumersiel. The coastal seaside resort Dornumersiel has been part of the municipality of Dornum since 2001.
