The bird park on Parkstraße in Heiden is a small green space with several aviaries and was initiated by the Heiden Nature and Heritage Protection Association.
The original idea behind the creation of the park was to make chicken species formerly kept as pets tangible for children. In a round pavilion you can see various Australian parakeet species, such as the crooked parakeets, budgies, cockatiels, half-banded parakeets and plum-headed parakeets, which usually chirp lively. In other aviaries, for example, weyendotten chickens, Friesian chickens and dwarf chickens scratch. The bird park is quite small but very popular.
