In the year 1752, Elector Clemens August had the remains of the Paulsburg, which stood at this location, demolished and the armory erected. It served as storage space for the soldiers stationed in the fortress for their "gear": ammunition, weapons, uniforms, and military equipment. In the 19th century, there was a chicory drying facility and a soap factory belonging to the Frye company located there. After numerous structural changes, the building is now owned by the Sanders family, who also reside in it. Above the door on the right wall, there is a copy of a stone relief, the original of which is housed in the museum. It was likely created on the occasion of the wedding of the Frye couple and depicts Adam and Eve at the tree of knowledge along with the family crests.
