Old barracks

Old barracks is a work of the municipality of Escombrera included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

Building located on the road to La Guingueta, near the center of town. It is a rectangular building, ground floor and one floor, in most of the construction, but with ground floor and two floors at one end of the building. The roof is on two sides. Access to the building is through a porch with a two-sided tiled roof. The openings of the two floors are rectangular and have a ceramic piece on both sides. The façade is completely swirling and painted white. The highlight of the building is the staircase that gives access to the first floor. This staircase is located at both ends of the building, and leads to a terrace that serves as the house to access the different rooms of the barracks. We must also take into account the great cantilever, which in the center of the construction disappears, and is written: THE BARRACKS. Above this inscription there is a front of three pyramided battlements.
