Torre de Santo Domingo de Silos - Cordoba

The tower of Santo Domingo de Silos is virtually the only remnant of the church of the same name, which was founded by Ferdinand III after the conquest of the city and was one of the fourteen parishes founded by the monarch in Córdoba.

The tower has a square plan, with three superimposed floors of decreasing size , the last section lacking the capital that would complete it. The first section is solid , with few decorations. The second part has openings with lintels through which the light enters, framed by decorative plaques and in some cases surmounted by triangular pediments; the windows are decorated with gothic and mudejar inspired lacemonie. The third part is illuminated by semicircular windows framed by pilasters, also decorated with plaques and surmounted by ecclesiastical coats of arms.

The few remnants of the painting that have survived show that it was polychrome, which is common in baroque buildings.
