The catchment area of Langogne has always been a privileged commercial area. Indeed Langogne is located on the path of an ancient Roman road, but is also on the scenic path of the Scottish novelist and poet Robert Louis Stevenson. Stevenson made a walking trip that would form the basis for Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes.
