Vernoux-en-Gâtine

Vernoux-en-Gâtine is a French municipality with 573 inhabitants in the Deux-Sèvres department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It belongs to the Parthenay arrondissement and the La Gâtine canton. The inhabitants are called Vernouziens. Vernoux-en-Gâtine is located about 20 kilometers west of Parthenay along the Sèvre Nantaise river and is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Largeasse to the north, Trayes to the north and northeast, Neuvy-Bouin to the northeast, Secondigny to the east, Le Beugnon to the south and southeast, La Chapelle-Thireuil to the south and southwest, Scillé to the southwest, as well as L’Absie to the west and northwest.
