Bouin is a French commune with 2,156 inhabitants in the department of Vendée in the Pays de la Loire region. It belongs to the arrondissement of Les Sables-d’Olonne and the canton of Saint-Jean-de-Monts. The inhabitants are called Bouinais. Bouin is located approximately 43 kilometers southwest of Nantes on the Bay of Biscay. To the north, the Falleron river borders the commune. Bouin is surrounded by the neighboring communes of Les Moutiers-en-Retz to the north, Vileneuve-en-Retz to the north and northeast, Bois-de-Céné to the east and southeast, Saint-Gervais to the southeast, and Beauvoir-sur-Mer to the south and southwest.
