Le Chay is a municipality in the Southwest of France located in the department of Charente-Maritime. It is written: "commune du Chay" and not "commune de Le Chay". Its inhabitants are called Chaytais and Chaytaises.
Located at the edge of the large agricultural champagne regions of Saintonge, in the continental fringe of the coast of Beauté, this small village that has retained a rural charm is benefited by its close proximity to Saujon, a small town in full expansion, which has led to an increase in the phenomenon of peri-urbanization.
