Place Stanislas
Considered the most beautiful royal square in Europe, a jewel of the 18th-century architectural ensemble listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Place Stanislas has allowed Nancy to shine across the world. A fine example of French classicism built by Emmanuel Héré, it is surrounded by intricately wrought iron gates enhanced with gold, made by the ironworker Jean Lamour, and majestic fountains designed by Barthélemy Guibal. The Town Hall, the Opera Theater, and the Fine Arts Museum occupy part of the buildings of the square.
