EGLISE DE MONTJÉZIEU

The church of Montjézieu is made of nicely dressed stones. The vaulting of the choir in cul-de-four, and that of the side chapels, in groin vault, is neat
The stones used for the triumphal arch are slightly yellow, those of the arches of the chapels clearly lighter, which gives the whole a harmonious appearance

The wooden pulpit is interesting: it is supported by a single pillar and topped by an ornamented spire with various motifs (lilies, clover). Its sides show in relief the figures of the four evangelists holding a book, which can be recognized by their attributes (lion, bull, eagle and man).
This pulpit, the seat at the bottom of the staircase, the tabernacle, as well as the confessional in the left-hand chapel form a homogeneous carved wooden ensemble

In the right-hand chapel, a wooden sculpture representing the Virgin and Child surrounded by two angels faces a painting of the Sacred Heart of Christ.
