Windbreak made of larch wood slats mounted on a
metallic structure. The orthogonal arrangement of the pairs of
wooden slats that make up this structure is inspired by the structure of the
panels of a folding screen but also of the one of the
reconciliation. Indeed, as in this object of the xviii
century
imagined for didactic purposes by Pastor Oberlin, the arrangement of the wooden slats provokes, depending on the position of the spectator,
an anamorphic effect that doubles the reading of what is
inscribed on their surface. This is how the names of the four dots
cardinals will be successively legible according to the way in which
the walker takes his place. Artistic work by Ilana Isehayek, originally from Canada, who has been living in Alsace since 1989.
Access: on foot from the VVF of Saâles (path forbidden to traffic,
steep slope, long and stony). By car from the village of St-Stail.
