Henridorff was founded at the beginning of the 17th century by Duke Henry II of Lorraine, who had the "Schwangen" wood cleared to settle a few Catholic families. Henridorff is one of the most beautiful examples of a typical village-street in Lorraine and the Pays de Phalsbourg. A large main street, the church in the center of it, and on both sides of the street the houses joined with large usoirs* and surrounded by beautiful orchards.
* A usoir is the space between the road and the building, in the non-mountain villages of Lorraine.
