Located in the former Abbey of Saint Martin, it offers to the public
- ancient collection: manuscripts (9th > 15th c.), incunabula, printed works (15th > 18th c.): consultation on site for researchers by appointment.
- local collection: newspapers, books (part of which can be borrowed, consultation on site)
- contemporary collection: for all audiences, in all printed media, books and periodicals, more than 25,000 works on direct loan (out of 90,000 on indirect loan), periodicals of the current month, dictionaries and encyclopaedias
Note the existence of the media libraries of Montreuil and Georges-Brassens in the lower town of Laon, all information on the site of the libraries...
