Plage du Phare

This beach, at the foot of the lighthouse, offers a sublime panorama of the Dune du Pilat and the Conche du Mimbeau, a small spit of sand accessible on foot when the water recedes. Whatever the tide, you can swim here, and children are particularly fond of the little natural "paddling pools" in which they can jump and play in complete safety at low tide.
During the summer season, a stand-up paddle rental hut is available for trips on the Bassin, as well as ice creams and soft drinks.
The Cap Ferret sailing club has set up base nearby, offering sailing courses and lessons. A boulodrome, skate park and playground are nearby. Free public toilets.
