Omaha Beach is famous for its American Cemetery, where 9387 soldiers who fell for freedom are buried.
This famous D-Day beach is located on the western coast of the Bessin region, some twenty kilometers northwest of Bayeux.
Its plateau, cut by two valleys, slopes down to the sea in the form of a dead cliff, bordered by a wet depression and a thin dune belt. The interest of the site lies in the great variety of natural environments, characterized by their distance from the sea, their exposure and the nature of the subsoil.
You can park at the Ruquet parking lot, at the eastern end of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, in the direction of the Sapinière restaurant in Saint-Laurent-Mer.
