The historian De Sauviac, from Dacquois, reports the existence in Laluque, in the 11th century, of a Romanesque church titled: Sanctus Joannès di Laluke. The primitive church of the 8th century would have been sacked by the Normans in the 9th century and by the Saracens in the 10th century. The church was burned again in the 13th and 14th centuries. It was immediately rebuilt. It was largely restored again in the 19th century, between 1854 and 1873
This is partly the present church, restored in the 19th century, between 1854 and 1873. With, among other things, its 11th century apse, it has a certain historical, artistic and cultural interest.
In 2007, it benefited from a restoration of the paintings of 1873, accompanied by a renovation of the electrical installation, the lighting, the chandelier and the heating (heating carpet by the ground), and a reorganization of the space.
