The famous painter Claude Monet came to live in Vétheuil, along the Seine. He made famous works around here such as "The breaking of the ice" in 1880. The Impressionists did not stay in their studio but went out and made their work outside in all weather conditions. So this is the area where you literally step into Monet's footsteps.
