At Greyfriars Kirkyard, you can see the memorial and grave of James Hutton, the "father and founder of modern geology". Did you know that James Hutton, before devoting himself to geology, he studied medicine. His speciality was the circulatory system. As Eric Weiner puts it in his "Geography of Genius": "He would later apply its principles to a much larger circulatory system: the earth."
