City and Islington College, known as Candi, is a further education college in the London Borough of Islington, England, with five major sites. It is a member of the 157 Group of highly successful Further Education colleges in England, of which its principal, Frank McLoughlin CBE, was the first Chair. The college has been awarded Beacon status by the Learning and Skills Council, and a 2008 Ofsted report awarded the college a Grade 1 (outstanding) in all aspects of its inspection report. The college is the first further education college in the country to win the Queen's Anniversary Prize twice. In 2005 the College completed a £64 million building programme. This was the biggest investment in accommodation in the history of further education in the UK. The college introduced the International Baccalaureate at its Sixth Form College in September 2010.
