Cape Dukato is the southern most headland of Lefkada. It was and is known as a very challenging pass for seafarers. That's why a lot of effort was done to create a passage east of Lefkas via the Lefkada-Akarnania channel. It is assumed that Homer referred to these cliffs as the white stones.
