Depression of Livadia

The closed depression of Livadia is a polje. The lowest part of the bassin is about 320 m above sealevel. As a closed depression, it collects a thick pack of soil matterial. You will see plenty of agriculture here. A major problem here is to have enough water. To be able to irrigate the land, an artificial lake has been made in the east part of the polje. But during my visit in august 2022, that water basin was as good as completely dry.
