The Palazzo Ferniani is an 18th-century palace in Faenza, in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. It is located on Via Navaglio at the corner of Via Campidori.
The Palazzo Ferniani was built by the Counts Ferniani under the direction of the architect Gian Battista Boschi from Faenza, supported by his colleague Alfonso Torreggiani from Bologna, in the middle of the 18th century as an extension of the adjacent, older palace. At the corner of the palace, a statue of the Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception, a work by Ottavio and Nicola Toselli from Bologna, was erected. Above the entrance portal is a beautifully crafted balcony with an iron railing, which in the center bears the family coat of arms: an eagle soaring over the sea, with a count's crown above it. The eagle-shaped downpipes also refer to the coat of arms. Inside the palace, the Long Gallery on the first floor leads to the halls, including the grand ballroom, through which one reaches the small, beautifully decorated chapel with a floor made of ornate ceramic tiles. In the palace, alongside various ceramics made by the family's manufactory over the centuries, there was also a large gallery featuring paintings by Italian and foreign artists from the 15th to the 18th centuries. In 1717, Count ‘Gaspare III. Ferniani’ hosted the exiled King of England, James Francis Edward Stuart, along with his entire court here. In 1779, Duke Ferdinand of Parma visited the house, and in 1782, Archduke Ferdinand Charles of Austria-Este was a guest there, who would succeed the Estes on the throne of Modena.
