Town Hall Veere

The Town Hall of Veere is a town hall located at the Markt in Veere in Zeeland. It is a late Gothic building featuring sculptures of the four men and three women of Veere on its facade. On the ground floor is 'De Vierschaar', where justice was administered by the city council until 1811. Today, it is part of Museum Veere, which includes the gilded silver cup of Maximilian of Burgundy. The town hall is included in the Top 100 of the National Service for Cultural Heritage.

Hendrik IV van Borsele, Lord of Veere, commissioned the construction of the Town Hall. The construction of the current town hall began in 1474 under the direction of the Fleming Everaert Spoorwater. Around 1481, Andries I Keldermans is also mentioned as a supplier of Gobertanger stone, among other materials used in the construction of the Middelburg town hall. It was completed in 1477. The Town Hall has undergone two restorations, in 1885 and from 1930 to 1935. In 2013-14, the building was thoroughly restored again.
