The Hilvaria Studios is a complex of buildings in the woods near Hilvarenbeek. The old Hilvaria Studios were built in 1964 as a film studio, specifically intended for the production of promotional films. Later, the studio was also used by directors of erotic films such as the Kronhausen couple and the Swedish/Italian 'Pornking of Europe' Lasse Braun. This spicy history is reflected on the walls of the toilets in the Leuvenzaal, where artist Janhein van Melis has incorporated scenes from the film 'French blue' into the tiles. In 1974, part of the building was taken into use as a sound studio where famous names recorded their records.
