Grafelijke Korenmolen

The tower mill is a round, heavily built stone windmill for grinding grain, which, as far as its first mention is concerned, dates back to 1280. The hull is cylindrical or almost cylindrical in shape and has walls up to 280 cm thick. Originally there were only two attics high in the mill, the attic with the grinding attic underneath. The tower mill used to have only an external staircase, with which one could enter the mill's grinding attic.
In the Netherlands, copies of this type of mill are still present in Zeddam, Zevenaar and Gronsveld. The De Zwaan mill in Lienden is also seen by some as a tower mill, but others do not consider this a tower mill. Behind the castle of Well (Limburg) is a mill hull of a tower mill, the so-called Dragon Tower.
