Hippolytus Church.

In the middle of the woods of Olterterp and yet close to various catering establishments is the Saint Hippolytus Church of Olterterp.To its romantic location and beautiful interior, the church undoubtedly owes its fame as a "wedding church"
" van Fryslân.In the summer there are often exhibitions of visual art. In addition to the tower and choir cloister, the Gothic church has stepped gables. The pulpit with hourglass from 1780 shows images of the four Evangelists and Moses with the Ten Commandments on the five tub panels. In 1744 the Boelens family, since the 18th century residents of the nearby Slot Boellens (now Huize Olterterp, head office of It Fryske Gea) donated 5oo guilders for the construction of the tower, which is commemorated by a memorial stone above the entrance.
