St. John's Cemetery

The Sint Janskerkhof is a cemetery at Hilversumseweg 51 in Laren in the Dutch province of North Holland. Right next to the cemetery is the Municipal Cemetery Laren where non-Catholic people are buried.

On the Catholic part is a neo-Gothic chapel from 1892. This funerary chapel on a hill is built in neo-Gothic style. The stained glass windows of this national monument come from the former chapel of the boys' school at Eemnesserweg 17. This is now Catholic primary school De Binckhorst - St. Jan. Next to the funeral chapel is a statue of Saint John from 2002. There is also a children's monument from 2002, an initiative of pastor Jan J. Vriend, which was erected in memory of the unbaptized children. It contains a mosaic from the former Good Shepherd Church and can be found to the left of the entrance. In the middle of this cemetery stood until 1586, contrary to popular belief, the old St. Vitus Church of Laren.
