Erehof Grafhorst is located on the general cemetery of Grafhorst in Overijssel. These Commonwealth war graves are almost at the back of the cemetery. The court of honour consists of 6 stones with the following names on them:
On the evening of 12 June 1943, a four-engine bomber, the Lancaster W 4316 of the 460th Squadron, departed from Binbrook base in England for an attack on Bochum in Germany. The bomber was attacked at night on the way back and hit by a German fighter plane and crashed burning in the Ganzendiep. Six crew members were killed. They were buried in the general cemetery of Grafhorst. The gunner Sergeant J.C. Cornish survived the shelling, but was taken to the Wilhelmina Gasthuis in Amsterdam with serious injuries. After his recovery, he was transferred to Germany as a prisoner of war.
