This church was built in 1862 by the architect J. van Mansfeld. An important expansion followed in 1924, when the old choir was taken out of use and a new nave in neo-gothic style and a choir in expressionist style were added transversely to the old nave by Dom Bellot.
The church was heavily damaged by war violence in 1944 and was later restored. The old choir was demolished in 1957. The church now accommodates the church administration, a general practice, and a village house.
