Huize Boldershof is a former convent and psychiatric institution for women. Sculptor Wim Harzing made a statue of the Sacred Heart for the institution, which was enthroned in October 1932.
The bronze sculpture depicts a standing figure of Christ in the characteristic design of Harzing, which he had made for the Van Rossum firm in 1922 and was executed in various sizes. Christ points with his left hand to the Sacred Heart on the breast, the raised right hand, with its wide sleeve, points to heaven. The statue stands on a high, brick pedestal, in the middle of a semi-circular, masonry wall.
