All-Holy Redeemer Church

The Most Holy Redeemer Church is a former Roman Catholic church in Rotterdam, which is now used as a residential building called De Kerk as an apartment complex.
The church was built between 1882 and 1884 on the Goudse Rijweg for the Redemptorist Fathers, who had settled in Rotterdam in 1881. In 1885, the monastery adjacent to the church was completed. The design of the church was by architect Johannes Kayser. It is a large neo-Gothic cruciform church, with a single tower on the left front side. The church accommodated 1,050 worshippers, but was not originally intended as a parish church. After the bombing of Rotterdam in May 1940, the church provided shelter for several parishes whose churches had been destroyed. Shortly after the war, the parishes in Rotterdam were reorganized, and the Most Holy Redeemer Church became a regular parish church.
