The HH. Laurentius and Elisabeth Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church building on Mathenesserlaan in Rotterdam. It was built in neo-Romanesque style according to a design by P.G. Buskens. Since 1967, the church has served as the cathedral of the Diocese of Rotterdam. The church was constructed in two phases. In the period from 1906 to 1908, the choir, transept, and nave were built. The twin-tower front was completed between 1920 and 1922. The first wartime damage occurred during a British bombing on October 3, 1941, when the entrance, roof, and dome were damaged. During an air raid on the building of the Security Service on Heemraadssingel on November 29, 1944, a side aisle of the church was severely damaged. After the war, this damage was repaired.
