Bels Lijntje

Until well into the 20th century, trains ran from Tilburg to Turnhout and vice versa. In the beginning, the railway was used for passenger and freight transport, but later only freight was transported. Lately, part of the route was covered at such a pace that one of the "crew members had time to get off the locomotive and, armed with a red flag, warn the other traffic of the approaching smoke and steam emitting monster and force them to stop.

Now it is a beautiful cycle path for tourists, day trippers and for commuting. In addition, it is designed as an ecological connection zone.
