Asselt may be one of the smallest villages in Limburg, but its famous Romanesque church opposite the museum makes it one of the most picturesque villages in Limburg. The museum was opened in 1927 and contains a very varied collection of folk art and antiquities, mainly from central Limburg. The museum has a beautiful collection of copper and pewter utensils, pipe bowls, gingerbread boards, Roman pottery, storage jugs and jars, a collection of weapons, axes and spearheads from the Stone Age, mammoth teeth, dust stamps, fireplace tiles, etc.
Opening hours:
From April to October, on Sundays and public holidays in the afternoon from 14:00 to 17:00
Furthermore, the museum can be visited by appointment by groups outside the Sunday afternoon opening. To make appointments, please call us on the telephone number mentioned above.
