The Kraloër heath, along with the Benderse Heath and the Dwingeloosche Heath, forms a contiguous heath complex in the Dutch National Park Dwingelderveld. The Kraloër heath is managed by Staatsbosbeheer. The Dwingeloosche Heath and the Benderse Heath are managed by Natuurmonumenten. The area is the largest wet heathland in Western Europe. On the north side of the area lies the Kraloër pond. In the northeastern part of the Kraloër heath lies the raised bog area called Holtveen.
