This is the 20 euro bridge in Spijkenisse. It is part of the Spijkenisse Euro Bridges.
The Spijkenisse Euro Bridges is an applied arts project in the city of Spijkenisse, in the Dutch province of South Holland. The art project has been realized in the neighborhood of De Elementen. These bridges are designed based on the images on the back of the euro banknotes. The bridges of the 10 and 50 euro notes were opened on October 26 2011 by the Commissioner of the Queen of South Holland Jan Franssen. Then, the 5 and 20 euro bridges were placed parallel to the access for cars. These bridges have only one euro side, and this access thus represents two banknotes. On October 17, 2012, the 200 euro bridge was placed between the De Elementen neighborhood and the Oude Maasweg, and on September 26, 2013, the last Euro bridges were delivered. The bridges are designed by Robin Stam. They are made of cast concrete with colored concrete panels attached to it. The size of the bridges is smaller than what the designer of the euro banknotes had in mind.
